I was going to pick oshawott b/cuz of Cilan, but after reading that, I changed my mind. Panpour and Chili here I come! :)

It should be noted that Juniper, the one of the people Bianca wants to be like, has a relative called CEDRIC. When you meet Cedric in Mistralton City, he drops references to the Kanto and Sinnoh regions, both of which are based on Japan. (sorry about the disaster) Oshawott, the Pokémon Bianca gets if you get Snivy, is also Japanese. Interesting... In Cheren's case, the person he seems to take after is Clay. Clay, like Cheren, is an honest, hard-working person who lives in Driftveil City, basically Unova's China Town. Just so happens Tepig is Chinese. As if Clay wasn't enough, Alder notices Cheren and compares him to Marshal. As you can probably guess, Marshal uses the Fighting type. Well, guess who else uses the Fighting type? Emboar does. Anyone disliking/ Snivy will have my comments c'&pasted at them.
